You have reached the About page of the FCA VSMATHUR – FACULTY website. How did I find my calling as a faculty in a(ny) educational institute, when my basic qualification is that of a Chartered Accountant who should usually just restrict his activities to Accounts, Audit, Finance and Taxation is then the theme this page would elaborate, right?
Born as Vikram Shankar Mathur in the city of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on the 30th day of November, 1962 at approx 11:05 AM I am the eldest son of Krishna Shankar Mathur, in turn the eldest son of Shri Maheshendra S. Mathur. My late grandfather had always told me that someday, my name should be written in bold letters as a Chartered Accountant. The journey from childhood to adulthood was long and arduous, but has taught me to be strong, honest, fiercely loyal and unflinchingly blunt in expressing an opinion.
When I qualified as a CA in May 1989 – finally, after a few attempts in my CA Finals, which I’d begun appearing for since the November 1987 – my first experience. The lesson learnt was never take on too much (or too many) on yourself, without constantly assessing and reassessing yourself. In November 1988 I cleared one group of CA Final and in May 1989 the other.
